10 inch Eee PC 1000 to be launched by Asus at Computex 08

It appears that the subnote war is in full charge. It also appears that according to a Computex invitation from ASUS they are planning a brand new variant on the Eee PC above and beyond showcasing the Eee PC 901. Everyone seems to be talking about the expected Eee PC 901, but there looks like the new Eee PC 1000 is also to be shown at Computex 2008.
Obviously with MSI Wind launching their 10 inch mini notebook Asus would take steps to launch one of their own in competition, and this is looking to be a duo assault with their Eee PC 901 and 1000.
Quoted from a note from Jonney Shih, Chairman of Asus: “ASUS is looking forward to welcoming you during Computex 2008 in Taipei, Taiwan, for the ASUS’ 08 Computex Trilogy of launch events. We would also like to specially extend an invitation to you to attend the official global launch of the new Eee PC™ 901 and 1000 series.”
The last words of this shows that the Eee PV 1000 is definitely on the cards; this 10 inch Eee is probably the largest notebook to carry the branding.
Apparently previously Jerry Shen CEO Asus suggested that the 10 inch Eee PC just might be available later this year. Computex 2008 begins on 3rd of June and runs until June 7th.
