  1. Awful laptop! Don’t buy!

    Falls down on:

Battery life (good luck getting 40 minutes from it unplugged)

Graphics card is a SiS Mirage 3 (AKA “The cheapest component we could get away with”) - can’t do widescreen VGA (which even 5-year-old laptops could do) and is barely capable of Google Earth etc.

  2. well today i want to tell you about my advent 9315

well i like his laptop realy and i hate this laptop.well i like the big 15.4 widescreen display and i like the intel cor2 duo but a problem with the cor2 is that its only 1.5ghz witch was a problem for me and it also ment that i could now watch films or they went choppy unless i downloaded a simple dvd program.the battery life on ths laptop is not the best its a new laptop and it says i have 1hour and the most i have ever had it is 1.10 hours witch is a shame cause if your like me you like to sit in the gardon in the sun playing or talking on msn.the case on the laptop is a shiny black plastic witch looks very flash but it means you can see alot of marks on it liek from fingerers.this laptop comes with 2gb memory ram witch was plently for me.there is a big annoyance about this laptop is that evey time you turn it on you half to reactivate the wireless by pressing fn and f10 .and thats another thing the fn button is were the ctrl button should be and the ctrl buton is were the fn is so it can be alittle annoying!the mouse built in is very snazzy as it is a heat censord mouse witch if you first time on it can be a bit trickey.when its charging and its turned off it makes a hi pitched quiet noise and it goes off every other second!the laptop came pre installed with windows vista witch it ran fine with but as i said befor it could not play dvds mutch.but i went to reinstall vista and it never worked the disk but i had a xp disk so i used that and with ex its fine because now i can play videos (full screen) and dvds and i also can play games now with windows xp but vista would not let me play lol 700mhz games and i have a 1.5 cor2duo .

it has not been nocked that mutch so i am unavailable to tell you if its durable but the hinge couvers seem a little loose.i have this mad on my desk andthe couver on it is liek a thin plastic and it has now gone bubberley because of my laptop as it can get hot of a record of 91 degrees Celc.the laptop has a full size keybord also .i never bought this laptop as we clamed off the home insurance and this is what they has send out.

there are 4 usb porst and one vga port a internal modem and a cardreader.the laptop also has a mic port and a head phone socet.but the laptop already has a inbuilt mic

some basic speccs of my laptop is

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5250
    (1.50GHz, 667MHz FSB, 2MB Cache)
    Genuine Windows Vista(R) Home Premium
    2GB Memory
    120GB Hard Drive
    128mb video card
    15.4inch display

ooo befor i forget the cd drive o and dvd drive (combo) spinns too fast and vibrates of the sase making a realy loud annoying sound

the laptop also has small speekers witch is quiet but querlises are handy…. drivers were some wat easy to find for the laptop when i downgraded to xp!

ooo there is a usb port on the side and 3 on the back with a gab inbetween 2 ,also the ethernet port is close to a usb so i keep putting usb things in there

it came with cyberlink power2go! for freee

  9. wow, reading the comments i thought it was only me having these problems! anyone else fnd it runs quite slow after a few months? i got mine for christmas not last year but the year before. it was great for a start. but the speakers are not very loud, and the ettery life is ridiculous. i have mines on charge every time i use it or elsewhen i switch it on, it goes of within 5 mins. it does get marked easily because of the black, snazzy looking design.
the thing that really anoys me is the battery lifeand how it doesnt run as fast as it did when i first got it. rather anoying but ohwell!
i wouldnt really say it was worth the £600 my mum and dad paid for it but im grateful to them anyway.

  10. i have had my laptop for almost 2 years now and find that like many of you i also struggle with the battery life. Unless it is plugged in i manage to get 10mins useage before it shuts down. i love the case and find it is easy to keep clean just wiping it with dry cloth takes away any finger marks or dust and dirt. the cover is still shiny and looks as new as the day i first bought it. it has never over heated or broke down and has given me many hours of enjoyment through use in watching movies and msn chats. i adore this laptop and think it was one of the best investments i ever made. i see laptops that my friends have got in the last year or so and the touch pad and surrounding area of it look worn out and tatty. not only is this laptop a beauty to look at, it also works very well other than the battery issues.
