Now come on it seems everyone wants in on the action when it comes to ultra cheap laptops so how does sub-$300 sound to you? Apparently NorhTec are prepping their very own Linux-based laptop.

So look at it this way we have had Cloudbook and the Eee PC and now we are getting another, let the competition begin. NorhTec are getting ready to introduce their new laptop called the Gecko laptop.

The Gecko laptop will feature a design by Quanta, 1GHz via C7M ULV processor, 7-inch display, an optional PATA hard drive, Linpus Linux Lite operating system and integrated graphics.

Are we ready for another ultra cheap laptop?
