Is the new Dell mini-inspiron good enough to be the Eee PC killer?

So you may be on the lookout for a new laptop, may be thinking of purchasing a new Eee PC or even a Wind laptop, but hang on a minute because those computer people over at Dell are apparently preparing to let loose their new “mini-inspiron” (Eee PC killer)on the sub-$500 mini laptop arena.
As usual with something this new, specs are so rare that no one on the net has anything, but they can’t be far behind these images so the wait shouldn’t be that long. The name “mini-inspiron” isn’t even the real name as it’s not known; rather it is the file name of the Dell supplies images.

However there are the usual sideways whispers coming from the shadows of the computing world which give reason to believe the “mini-inspiron”, and that’s if any of this actually holds up, we are looking at a mini-laptop at between 8/9 inches with a sub-$500 price tag and has a choice of operating systems, either Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP Home edition. Further rumoured features could be an integrated webcam of some description, direct media playback buttons, an 8-in-1 card reader, and an abundance of wireless options.
Should be hearing more of this little laptop when Computex kicks off next week, and when we do, so will you.
