Asus S101 revealed as new high-end Eee PC

The word is Asus are preparing a high end 16GB SSD version of the Eee PC. The new laptop will apparently drop the Eee PC branding to reflect its price tag of $699.00, and will be called the Asus S101. There will also be a 32GB SSD version costing $899.00 and possibly a 40GB SSD version in the works.

Asus president, Jerry Chen the new laptops will be Atom based netbooks and sport a 10.2 inch LCD 16:9 aspect LED backlit display, 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor and 945GME chipset, and battery life of about 4-5 hours.
