The guys over at Engadget have got their hands on the new Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro which they have un-boxed and here are their first views on these two new machines from Apple.
The main construction of the MacBook and MacBook Pro are totally new and they feel new too, feeling like high-grade aluminium with sleeker less hard edges. The MacBook now weighs half a pound less, while the MacBook Pro gains 2/10th of a pound.
The biggest news is that Apple has traded up from previous displays to a super glossy matted LCD display. Gone is the trackpad button too and now has a Storm-like button which can be tweaked if necessary.
Besides cosmetic alterations, they lose the Firewire 400 slot and changed the DVI port for a mini display port jack. Insides they gain a faster CPU, and now DDR3 RAM, while NVIDA graphic chips GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT.
Basically this is an evolution with the MacBook and MacBook Pro rather than revolution, but all-in-all they’ve received some much welcomed upgrades.
