Adjust display for privacy with new LCD panel

Category: News | October 16th, 2008

LG Display Co Ltd has apparently developed a 14.1 inch LCD panel for use on notebooks which can ensure privacy for the user by allowing the alteration of the viewing angel at a simple single touch.

The new panel is capable of offering a 175 degree viewing angle which could be adjusted to 60 degrees because of its Viewing-angle Image Control Display technology; this tech prevents people who are sitting next to you seeing any information on your screen.

According to LG Display’s chief technology officer and executive vice president, In-Jae Chung, the notebook PC LCD panel paves the way towards commercialisation of notebook PCs which block side viewing with change in screen brightness.
