8 hour battery life on Samsung NC10? Very doubtful

Category: Laptop Brands, News, Samsung | October 17th, 2008

The Samsung NC10 is definitely one nice looking netbook and has an excellent keyboard along with a decent trackpad all enclosed in a more than attractive casing, and internally the Samsung NC10 offers an Intel Atom CPU, a 10.2 inch display, and up to 160GB hard drive.

However there is a claim the Samsung is making that just doesn’t seem to quite ring true with the Samsung NC10, and that claim is that the user will get up to eight hours of battery life with on single charge.

But using a six cell 6600mAh battery, along with that 10.2 display and a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, is somewhat very doubtful that eight hours can be accomplished, five possibly, six maybe if you shut down the WiFi, but eight? I can’t see it myself.

  2. Just bought an Nc10 last week and I can confirm that i’ve managed an 8 hour work day with this beauty..! i’ve travelled a lot in this week and what a god send she is, lightweight (including the charger unit) powerful enough to run two flash websites, email and other junk i’ve normally got going. There are times that you’ll have to wait a couple of extra seconds for something to open but hey.. The brightness is great for quality movie watching and the general sound output both on speaker and through headphones is very respectable for this sized unit, i can’t fault it. my previous laptop a £1500 Vaio which is on it’s last legs after 3 years (thus the reason for this purchase) is on a par with the £300 Samsung in spec, except the obvious lack of a CD drive..
