Moorestown platform: Ericsson joins Intel for HSPA mobile

Laptops are the future and for them to have the likes of HSPA mobile data solutions is a godsend, the latest news shows that Ericsson has joined hands with Intel to bring HSPA mobile data solutions to Mobile Internet Devices such as laptops.

The all new Ericsson HSPA data solution is basically at the moment targeted at the likes of Intel’s Moorestown platform and we could see a release sometime in 2009-2010, the all new set-up will be based on the Intel Atom processor.

Moorestown if you don’t know already is Intel’s next-gen MID platform which will consist of HSPA as one of its wireless technologies, Ericsson is at the moment optimizing its module for the awesome Intel Moorestown platform and Moblin-based Linux operating systems, the all new module will work on both GSM/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA networks worldwide. All we say is, embedding this into laptops will be a good thing, and many consumers will just love it.
