HP discounting Mini-Notes ready for upgrades?

Category: HP, Laptop Brands, News | October 21st, 2008

It appears that HP are trying to clear their stocks of Mini-Note PCs ready for upgrades and are aggressively discounting price to achieve this. The HP VIA based netbook that officially launched carrying a price of $499.00 has just shed $100.00 to now be offered at just $399.00.

The $399.00 version is of course the basic version with 1GHz C7-M, a 4GB flash drive pre-loaded with SuSE Linux, and 512MB of memory. There are other discounts available and range up to a nice $779.00 model which normally sells at $1064.

There’s no word on what has prompted HP to instigate these discounts which by the way are due to stop at the end of October, so if you wish to take advantage you’d better get a move on.
