U.S. White House cyber attacked
Category: News | November 8th, 2008
The latest news in the world of computer crime is that The United States White House has been attacked by cyber-criminals in China confirmed U.S. officials. Apparently these hackers managed to break into the system and gain access to some of the archives before the breach was finally sealed by security experts.
U.S. officials believe this cyber attack may have been sponsored by China’s government, although establishing identities may prove extremely difficult, one official stated: “We are getting very targeted Chinese attacks so it stretches credulity that these are not directed by government-related organizations.”
Although there had been no official announcement from the White House, this cyber attack was real, and White House IT officials have taken down the network for repair that should last several days.
