Taiwan based Asus is planning to sell in the region of 20,000 to 30,000 laptop computers and netbooks every month in the country. Asus also has intentions to make rapid inroads into India, as Asus values India as one of the key emerging global markets for its products.
Asus corporate vice-president, Benson CL Lin, said: “Blazing the trail for Asus in India will be its EeePC line, which sparked the demand for netbooks worldwide and of which more than two million sets have been sold upon its launch in October 2007.”
Lin went on to say that in order to be among the top three laptop and netbook sellers in India calls for strategy and therefore Asus is expanding their service centre network to ten up from the current seven.
