New Shanghai server chip unveiled by AMD

AMD has unveils a processor with the codename Shanghai, which is apparently for use in servers, and unlike recent chips from AMD the Shanghai is actually being released as per schedule and will be more versatile that a comparable chip being released by Intel shortly.
Analyst at BMO Capital Markets in Toronto, Brian Piccioni, says: “It’s been tested by enough people who say it performs very well.”
According to AMD, the Shanghai will perform thirty percent better that its predecessor and decrease power requirements by thirty-five percent, this combination should boost efficiency while helping customers reduce operational costs.
