HP vs Apple vs Alienware vs Toshiba : Backlit Keyboards
Category: Other | November 24th, 2008
So just who does have the most outstanding backlit keyboard? HP, Apple, Alienware and Toshiba all have the backlit keyboard, but do they measure up all the same or does one come out on top, let’s find out…
The HP Pavilion dv3510nr: a highly portable full size keyboard to go along with the media control keys, Centrino 2 platform, fingerprint reader but no Firewire and the glossy touchpad doesn’t give the best feel, costs $1,100.
The Apple MacBook: The newest aluminum MacBooks out of the Apple stable with a solid feel and over-large touchpad with improved integrated graphics with some models sporting the backlit keyboard. Loses FireWire and the touchpad initially feels somewhat awkward, price $1,229.
Alienware M17: Price and performance is a decent mix, and the option of a quad-core CPU along with dual ATI GPUs. Unfortunately the design heralds back to the older chunkier design and if you want the right options can hit your wallet, price $1,999 – $4,199.
Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402: Sturdy construction, nice backlit keyboard, touch sensitive media controls with impressive battery life. Again a boxy design that is unappealing and no FireWire, price $1,100.
Take you pick…you decision is yours.
