Fujitsu Siemens tech can track stolen laptops

Laptop security is always at the forefront of anyone who uses a laptop for business or pleasure, and the biggest threat is theft. In order to slow that down, Fujitsu Siemens is to offer a security bundle that will not only protect confidential data but in cases of theft will allow the owner to locate their laptop.
SystemTrack and DataProtect software will become available from Fujitsu Siemens will become available in the 1st quarter of 09 in select Fujitsu Lifebook models and also all business orientated laptops in the Esprimo model series.
According to Fujitsu Seimens laptop thefts have risen by approximately 84% since 2006. When a customer purchases either of the aforementioned laptops they need to register with the Computrace Customer Centre and should their laptop be stolen they report the theft, and then SystemTrack will track the stolen laptop in real time and detect the laptop as soon as it connects to the internet.
