Windows Vista SP2: some things you may want to know

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 is today being released as a public beta, and this program has been under testing since October. Windows Vista SP2 is still a product in development and Microsoft has intimated that only IT pros, developers and technology enthusiasts should take on this upgrade.

With Vista SP2 there comes several changes such as recording onto Blu-ray disc, adds Vista Feature Pack for Wireless, better Wi-Fi performance when you’re exiting Vista’s sleep mode, the latest desktop search engine, Windows Search 4, cuts down the resources it takes to run your various sidebar gadgets, RSS feeds sidebar gadget work faster and better.

Also there are a few under the hood improvement such as boosts power management efficiency by as much as 10 percent, support for VIA Technologies’ new 64-bit CPU, and support exFAT, which can handle larger files and can also use UTC timestamps so you can synchronize files across different time zones.
