Video: HP Mini 1000 laptop offer 3G or do it yourself
Category: HP,Laptop Brands | December 6th, 2008
Hp launched the HP Mini 1000 laptop not so long ago, and well now they have added integrated WWAN as an option when proceeding to checkout, the options are that you can choose between HSPA modem for AT&T or an EV-DO modem for Verizon Wireless.
The addition of either WWAN will cost a further $199.00 for the chosen modem and a as the integrated modem will require 1GM of RAM and a 60GB hard drive this adds a further $50.00, which brings the total cost for a 3G enabled HP Mini 1000 up to a staggering $650.00.
Compared to Dell who offer an AT&T subsidised 3G Dell Mini 9 laptop with a cost increase of just $5 when signing an AT&T data plan. Another way of course is you can always crack it open an install your own 3G but will need to hack HP’s Bios lock, but it is possible as you can find out by the video below.
