Android OS laptops closer than you think
Category: News | January 3rd, 2009

Currently Microsoft Windows is a more dominant operating system than Linux when it comes to laptops, but the future may hold a third operating system poised to infiltrate the laptop arena in the for of the Android OS, but that may be a long time off, or is it?
Over at VenturBeat, a couple of freelancers got to grips for a few hours with Google’s Android operating system and got it running on an Asus Eee PC, and thanks mostly to the open source drivers and the like it was up and running in short order.
Now beings that Android is used to G1 screen size you’d think there would be a bit of a problem with android adjusting to the bigger display of the Eee PC, but in fact the size adjustment was accomplished automatically by Android. So, maybe the Android based laptop isn’t as far off as on would expect.
