17 inch unibody MacBook Pro with non-removable battery on its way

Word coming out of Asia is that the 17 inch Apple MacBook Pro is to go unibody just like its sister models the 13 and 15 inch models, however the more important news is that Apple is making a really slim battery pack for the 17 inch Apple MacBook Pro that will have a longer life than existing models.
Other news is that this new slimmer battery pack won’t be removable but will be inside the machine much like Apple’s iPhones and iPods, which means removing the battery will not be able to be achieved by most users.
As with all things battery operated, performance drops over time, and Apple hasn’t stated just how they will deal with this issue when it arrives, maybe Apple is considering offering a service to deal with this when it arises. This new 17 inch MacBook is expected to be revealed at Macworld 09, and rumour has it the 13 inch plastic Macbook is to be phased out which may just bring down the price of the unibody Macbook, who knows.
