Netbook trademark war continues with Intel suing Psion
Category: News | February 26th, 2009
It appears Intel has joined the affray against Psion over the “netbook” trademark, and argues that the general public uses the term “netbook” as a representation of “extensions of the notebook category, smaller computers purpose-built for mobile Internet access.”
Furthermore, Intel also state that Psion trademarked the term “netbook” for their line of computers which have been out of production since 03, and had no intention of reintroducing it into the market.
Basically Intel’s position on the “netbook” trademark mirrors that of Dell, although Intel actually filed the lawsuit before Dell.
