Acer is announcing quite a bit of gear lately, but the hottest so face has to be the new Acer Aspire Timeline laptops. Although specs are a tad scarce at the moment these 13.3, 14.1, and 15.6 inch laptops do sound real good.

LED backlit 16:9 displays, Intel ULV processors, HDMI, S/PDIF out, multi-touch trackpads. 8 hour battery life or 10 hours by using an SSD, DDR3 RAM, topping out at 500GB HDD and 64GB SSD, built in WiMAX.

The 13.3 inch model weights in at 3.5 pounds and the 15.6 inch model weight in at 5.3 pounds. The hard to swallow point though is the wallet crunching $699 to $$899 asking price.
