Apparently, Qualcomm has persuaded several Taiwan ODMs to show off their Snapdragon microprocessor “smartbook.” Amongst those who are willing to show are HTC, Toshiba, Asus, Foxconn, Compal, and Wistron.
The Snapdragon “smartbooks” will be shown at the Computex Taipei show, and according to Qualcomm there are more than 15 makers developing more than 30 Snapdragon products.
Qualcomm claims that Snapdragon powered smartbooks can run all day on a single charge and has a week long standby time along with 3G, WiFi and GPS. The drawback is that Windows OS does not run on either of the 2 Snapdragon processors and thus must run Linux.
