Tests show new MacBook Air is slower than previous model
Category: Apple,Laptop Brands | June 29th, 2009
The guys over at Macworld have spent a little time with the latest MacBook Air which gained processor speed bumps and a nice price reduction of $300 to $700. However, Macworld has found that despite the MacBook Air clock speed increase, they are still slower than previous MacBook Airs.
Macworld speculate the reason in part could well be due to aggressive thermal management in the higher speed units; however they couldn’t come up with a conclusive answer.
So basically if you want the cheaper priced MacBook Air then you are going to have to sacrifice speed.
