Ubuntu Better than Google, Microsoft and Apple OS?

Google has said they will create their own operating system and this will bring a single reaction from the world of operating enthusiasts across the globe…”Not another operating system!” The problem is that the Linux and open source community has suffered from fragmentation for the past 2 years.

Throughout the 80s and 90s the Unix OS fragmented repeatedly; systems admins where forced to learn several new platforms such as AIX, Solaris, HP-UX and freeBSD and the list continues to grow.

There has been a variety of Microsoft OSs AND Apple Mac OS X and previous Mac OSs while out of the Linux distribution wars one OS has emerged with the strength to take on the rest and that is Unbuntu.

You hardly even bothered with this "story". Do us all a favour and in the future do not bother at all.

Better than windows? Maybe, but I don't use an OS to play around moving files around, I use it to ran apps. Here Linux dies a horrible tragic death. Besides, to get my 4870 radeon working in Ubuntu I had to sacrifice a goat and bend the fabric of the universe. In windows I had to double click a file.

Better than Apple OS? That depends on what you need, if your a graphic artist and you need the best technical support on the planet, then Ubuntu falls short, but if you are a poor college student with more time than money you can upgrade an old computer laying around with a free OS that out performs Windows for free maybe so. Bob, so you had a tough time with your video card huh? Do you know how many hours I spent trying to get a Microsoft rep from India to activate my OS over the phone after I upgraded my video card and Windows locked me out due to their hardware detection feature and license policy? I'd rather save my money and time and run Ubuntu than contribute to Microsoft's saturation of the world market with an over priced inferior product.
