Is Acer backing down with Google Android netbook?
Category: Acer,Laptop Brands | July 29th, 2009
That seems to be the big question as a new report coming from Taiwan states production of a previously announced dual boot netbook from Acer with both the Android platform and Windows XP platform has now been delayed.
Of course the report comes from Digitimes which isn’t that well known for their accuracy involving rumours, but they state…”further evaluation has found demand for an Android netbook is not strong enough, and it has therefore decided to postpone the launch of the model.”
They also say the netbook is now being pushed back to a November release date, and if true this means something has shifted at Acer which could well mean Acer is moving away from placing Android on netbooks.
