The MSI X-Slim X340 ultra-portable has been updated but the design remains the same, the name hasn’t changed, but the new edition comes with an extended 8-cell battery which is said to double playtime to 8 hours 48 minutes.

But that isn’t the only new news, as the MSI X-Slim X340 can now by yours for less, yep MSI has slashed a cool $100 off the original asking price and is now $799 rather than $899.

Obviously the extended battery adds some weight to the MSI X-Slim X340 and now weights 3.4 pounds rather than 2.9, but the weight addition is more than compensated with that price reduction.
