Phoenix Technology were at IDF and were showing off a few products and the most interesting of which is their Instant Boot BOIS, which is a high customised UEFI performance which can load an OS in just under a second.

What this means is when combined with Windows 7’s optimised start-up you’ll be looking at exceeding short boot times, one second is hard to believe but it does do it.
