NVIDIA Ion LE hack delivers DirectX 10
Category: Other | November 2nd, 2009
The Ion LE from NVIDIA promises to deliver 1080p HD playback just like the regular Ion but commanding a cheaper price tag but to reach that lower price tag it drops DirectX 10 support for DirectX 9.
However, myHPmini member, runawayprisoner has apparently discovered that by modifying HP’s own Ion drivers he can get them to install for the Ion LE.
It appears that the only thing stopping the Ion drivers installing on an Ion LE system is the lack of the device ID in the driver’s INF and once that has been added the installation works and you get DriectX10 support on the lesser chipset.
