Upgrade Process Erased with Windows 7 Planning Tools
Category: Software News | November 9th, 2009

Apparently companies planning on moving to Windows 7 require a more rigorous planning and assessment tool as opposed to the consumer grade upgrade advisor, as if you only have a handful of systems the Windows 7 upgrade advisor will do the job but for larger deployment MAP, or Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit 4.0 is your tool.
MAP enables the user to inventory and analyse your company systems without the need for any sort of agent software to be installed, and leverages existing Microsoft tech like Remote Registry Service, Active Directory Domain Services and Computer Browser Services to gather info and return informative reports.
However, MAP is good but only delivers half the story when compared with Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and thus you will need to consider the software you rely on and whether the apps will work with Windows 7; for the full article follow the source.
