Apple has now begun shipping Core i5 versions of their 27 inch iMac machines; the first quad core desktop is listed as “prepared for shipment” with an unspecified ship date but apparently Apple has now confirmed shipping and expects early orders to arrive in the next 2 days.
The Core i5 equipped 27 inch iMac has similar specs to that of the regular Core 2 Duo version like a 2560 x 1440 display, 4GB RAM along with 1TB hard drive, but features a different mainboard as the i5 and i7 has built in memory controllers and new architecture.
Apple, although has advised on shipping nonetheless warns new orders for the 27 inch iMac Core 2 Duo version is facing a delay of between 7 to 10 business days.
