Apple MacBook Air Refresh 2012: Ivy Bridge Triple Display
Category: Apple,Laptop Brands | December 8th, 2011
Ivy Bridge processors are going to make its debut in April and May 2012, and this new technology will bring triple display to Apple MacBook Air laptops. We all know that there will be a new Apple MacBook Air refresh, so to see this will be a good start for the New Year.
MacRumors reports, that the new Ivy Bridge platform for both desktop and mobile will bring support for up to three independent displays, with one of those being an internal one. The one that is internal will be built into the MacBook Air itself; it would be much better to see a DisplayPort connector as standard in 2012.
At the moment the Sandy Bridge platform can only handle two independent displays, so by adding the third would be a good start in the right direction for consumers, if you look at the 13-inch MacBook Pro, this can only handle two external displays by turning off its internal display.
What are your views on the direct support for up to three displays via the Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics?
