Apple MacBook Air has major error: USB 3G modems do not fit

Category: Apple, Laptop Brands | January 25th, 2008

Apple MacBook Air Error
Oh damn that Apple MacBook Air, it seems that the Apple Mac Air has some major error which will pee you right off. Ryan Block from Engadget has tested out and confirmed that there is a flaw in design.

Basically the error is that they had one of the smallest USB EV-DO modems around (Sprint / Novatel U727), and even this being so small would NOT come close to fitting in the confined area of the foldaway USB port on the MacBook Air.

Ok they carry on to say most flash drives will probably fit but it seems that 3G users will either need USB extension cable or powered USB hubs to get online where WiFi isn’t available.

If you do decide to buy an Apple MacBook Air, then we have to say go to your local store and test this put first before finding out it does not fit.

See Engadget’s photo gallery of the error here.
