As yet we haven’t seen the flood of expected Centrino2 based laptops; however things do seem to be picking up a tad as we near the end of the delay time with Santech being the latest to debut their laptop based on the platform formally known as Montevina. The Santech latest is known as the X46 and is powered with a Core 2 Duo processor up to 2.8GHz.

The Santech X46 features a 15.4 inch WXGA+ display, 512MB NVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics, up to 4GB RAM plus 2GB Intel Turbo memory, 320BG hard drive or 200GB if you wish to do 7,200rpm, with a choice of Blu-ray drive or DVD burner.

Keep your eye out for the Santech X46 to begin shipping in Europe around 30th July with a default configuration at a price tag of $1,000.
