Dell Inspiron Mini 9 toting 3G not as good as expected
Category: Dell, Laptop Brands | September 10th, 2008

Some were hoping to give their stock Dell Inspiron Mini 9 a bit of a 3G push, but alas those who where hoping are going to be disappointed, because the mini netbook’s 3G readiness isn’t a exploitable as firsts thought.
Yes, the Dell Inspiron Mimi 9 netbook does have a spare vacant WWAN slot, and Gearlog found out from Dell Corporate Communications’ Anne Camden, who stated: “the Mini doesn’t have the internal antenna infrastructure needed to support mobile broadband.”
And that actually makes the vacant WWAN slot completely useless, and as you probably guessed, the antenna was dumped to keep costs low.
