Dell News: 10 Percent of Global Workforce means 8800 Lose Jobs

Dell will be shedding their workforce globally by 8,800 despite of a 3 percent increase in sales. The backdrop of releasing first QTR results show bumper sales of a whopping $14 billion but yet still DELL are cutting around 10% if their global workforce over the next year. Despite the increase they did suffer a dip in the first QTR and their net income was $759million down from $762m last year.

The cuts will affect all departments and all regions which will include Dell’s Irish operations, which they only employ 4,500 people in Limerick and Cherrywood, near Dublin, talks have said that 450 people will lose their jobs in Ireland.

Cheap Laptops Say – You can only buy Dell products online really and it would be more beneficial if they started selling worldwide in stores, surely this will bump up sales meaning loss of jobs. Yes they wish to be different than any other major company in the same field but this will not make them the best. Dell has always been successful but we know they could come out on tops if they sold in stores.
