Dell ups fee for downgrade to XP older OS will cost $50 more
Category: Dell, Laptop Brands, News | June 20th, 2008

Apparently Dell has upped the prices for those people who wish to stay with Windows XP Professional, and so as of right now the only way to gain Windows XP Pro pre-installed is to select an option which gives you Vista in the box, however if you are wanting Windows XP Home Edition or even Windows XP MCE, then don’t bother because you’ll be totally out of luck.
On certain eligible machines, it appears that getting Windows XP Pro with Vista Business is going to hit your pocket to the tune of $99.00 more than Vista Home on its own, and if you feel you need Vista Ultimate it adds yet another $50.00. Or Dell will throw Windows XP in for free with their upper level Vista packs.
Personally from what I’ve heard Vista stinks, and Windows XP is way better; I run XP myself and have no wish to up to Vista at anytime. I can’t see why people like Dell can’t stick with the better system like XP…Oh well anything to turn a buck I suppose.
