Eee PC shipments fall short of the mark for Asus
Category: Asus, Laptop Brands, News | July 10th, 2008

Seems Asus received a lesson in reality, as the Taiwanese Eee PC producer has announced they have shipped 1.7 million of their Eee PCs over the first half of the year, which just happens to be a tad less than they originally forecast, a tad being only 300,000!
Obviously the lack of 300,000 sales could be explained away on a number of reasons, such as a downturn in the world economy, and even perhaps a few customers decided to skip over the Asus Eee PC 900 and opting for the Atom based Eee PC 901 instead.
Although as Atom processors are in somewhat of a short supply along with Asus diluting their Eee brand as far as possible, it doesn’t come as too big a surprise to see lower sales than originally expected. Especially for such companies as Asus and Acer who have seemed to have thrown everything into these new netbook type mini laptops. Hey guys, I have a small tip, has it occurred to you that perhaps not that many actually like a tiny screen?
