GeCube 10.2-inch VIA C7 processor netbook is Asus Eee PC alternative
Category: News | June 4th, 2008

Welcome to the world of GeCube, we all know that the Asus Eee PC 901 and 1000 becoming official and with many other companies following suit, which are all potential competitors. The latest news in is all about GeCube’s 10.2-inch alternative, which personally cannot see it doing much damage in the way of competing against the like of the Eee PC.
The new laptop is at the moment unnamed and the specs within include 512MB of DDR2 RAM (with an additional slot open), VIA C7-D processor clocking at 1.6GHz, 80GB SATA hard drive, 1,024 x 600 resolution panel, three USB 2.0 jacks, stereo speakers, WiFi and Ethernet. Apparently one unit will be loaded with gOS but will also have support for Windows XP. As usual no word on pricing or availability, personally the price has to be very low indeed unless they pump it up with Nano/Atom.
