Today at today’s Apple keynote the new 12-inch Retina display MacBook was revealed, and this one is outstanding with a new build from the ground up. Apple has totally redesigned the MacBook on the outside and on the inside.
Even though the event was apparently called “The Watch Event”, for us it was clearly called “The MacBook Event.”
The new MacBook will come in either silver, space gray or gold, and will start shipping on April 10, 2015 with a price range from $1,299 (£1,049) to $1,599 (£1,299).
When it comes to the specs the new MacBook will come with a 12-inch 2304×1440 Retina display (That’s 3.3 million pixels), USB-C support, 10 hours movie playback, 9 hours wireless web, which means this one has 35% more battery in the same space. It also comes with no fan; yes this means it is the first fanless MacBook.
It weights a mere 2 pounds, is 24% thinner with a logic board 67% smaller than other MacBooks, it all has a 88mm screen panel, which is thin. Comes with 250 GB to 500 GB storage, a stunningly gorgeous new backlit keyboard with a butterfly mechanism, this means the old scissor design keyboard buttons are a thing of the past.
In a nutshell: Uses 30% less energy, new keyboard, thinner Retina display, more pixel resolution, fanless, LED under every key, new butterfly key mechanism, 24% thinner than the 11-inch Mac Air and new pressure-sensitive Force Touch trackpad.
