Dell has announced their new Latitude E series which replace the D series, and there are seven models in total. The E5400, E5500, E6400 and the E6500 are all traditional with 14.1 inch or 15.4 inch displays. The E4200 and E4400 are ultraportables while the leaked E6400 ATG is a ruggedised version.
As for the E4200 12 inch it is the lightest corporate laptop ever to be made by Dell weighing only 2.2 pounds. Dell’s 13.3 inch E4220 weighs in at 3.4 pounds. Both of these feature Latitude ON which gives access to data without fully booting the laptop.
Dell says the larger machine’s batteries can last up to 19 hours, but we will see. These newest models also come equipped with a backlit keyboard and can be outfitted with fingerprint reader, WWAN options which include WiMAX and dual pointing devices.
