HP DV7-1245dx Laptop: System Freezes, hot temp, drive failure

I purchased this 2 months ago. From day one I knew there was something not right, but HP tech told me everything was ok. The system freezes, hot temp, drive errors, all normal.

Today my hard disk displayed an error Imminent Drive Failure! Hp has now sent me a new Hard Drive and Operating Disk. My Optical drive thinks all CD-R’s are DVD-RW’s and tries to format them. This machine is such a headache, it is 2 months old, Best Buy will be NO help, I should have never purchased the extended service.
