Retrodata warns that Seagate drives in Apple MacBooks have defects
Category: Apple, Laptop Brands, News | November 28th, 2007

It has been reported by Retrodata who are the UK data recovery firm a batch of Seagate drives which are used in some MacBooks seem to be suffering from a manufacturing defect. Retrodata warns that the main problem is confined to Seagate 2.5 inch SATA drives revision 7.0.1 from China which you can find out via your laptop (Source below for more information).
The problem seems to be the read and write heads which can become detached from the drive in where it may scratch the surface of the disk if the computer isn’t immediately turned off, Apple already know of this problem and say that they have received a few reports and are looking into it further.
So if this is the case that the Apple MacBooks are flawed and which can make the recovery near enough impossible do you not think Apple should step up to the mark and make an issue for recall.
